IRDAI has released its consultation paper on a major overhaul of insurance distribution, proposing lower Expense of Management limits, new commission rules and stronger safeguards against mis-selling. For life insurers, EoM is proposed at 15% of GDPI within two years and 12.5% within five years, while general insurers could move to 20% of domestic GDPI over five years.
