Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Spikescout processes when you use it. The short version: there are no accounts, no cookies, no analytics and no ads, and we never sell data.

Who we are

Spikescout is operated by G3 GOLDEN TECHNOLOGY SRL, registration number 37598443, Strada Nerva Traian, Nr. 7, Bloc M66, Scara 1, Etaj 5, Ap. 19, Sector 3, București, Romania.

YouTube API Services

Spikescout uses YouTube API Services to search and display public YouTube videos and channels. By using Spikescout you are also subject to the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google processes data as described in the Google Privacy Policy. Spikescout does not ask for access to your YouTube or Google account.

Information we process

• Search queries and filters. Sent to our server to run the search. Results are cached for up to 12 hours so other visitors can reuse them; the cache is not linked to you.
• IP address. Used to apply a fair daily search limit. We store only a one-way hash of it, and it is deleted after 24 hours. Our hosting provider may also keep standard server logs for security.
• Favorites, collections and preferences. Saved only in your browser's local storage. They never leave your device, and clearing your browser data removes them.
• Embedded videos. Videos play through YouTube's privacy-enhanced player (youtube-nocookie.com). When you press play, Google may process data under its own policy.

Why we process it

To provide the service, keep it available for everyone and protect it from abuse. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in running a secure, fairly shared tool (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Service providers

We rely on a hosting provider (Vercel), a cache database provider (Upstash) and Google (YouTube API Services). Some of them may process data outside the EEA under appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you may request access to, correction or deletion of your personal data, and object to or restrict its processing. Because we store almost nothing that identifies you, there is usually nothing to return. Write to us at the address above. You can also complain to the Romanian data protection authority (ANSPDCP) or your local authority.

Children

Spikescout is not directed to children under 16.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page.
